The creeping tide
A photo gallery showing how far the tide comes in at Bells these days. A few of these pictures indicate the tide coming right up to the base of the cliffs, with one showing a land slip, probably the combined result of the tide and the large amount of rain we have had lately.
During certain times of year, Easter being the most notable, the tides peak at much higher levels than at other times. Makes you wonder what the organisers of the Rip Curl Pro have in mind this year to ensure that spectators don’t encroach on the base of the cliffs and cause further damage, doesn’t it?
